Requirements of the ISO 22000 Standard:

ISO 22000 does not set the same requirements for all companies, as the norms and procedures required for high-risk areas in one food sector may not be appropriate for others. Therefore, unlike other certification systems, the standard does not provide a mere “checklist” of compliance.

To obtain a certificate according to ISO 22000, a company must monitor the laws of the local and export markets as well as the specifications and requirements of its customers. Thus, the ISO 22000 standard requires specific adaptation to the needs of the industry for each type of food product.

Advantages of the ISO 22000 Standard:

  • Improved communication throughout the supply chain.
  • Increased consumer confidence.
  • Enhanced competitiveness.
  • Greater transparency along the food chain.
  • Meets the principles of the HACCP code.
  • Optimizes resources both internally and throughout the food chain.
  • All control measures are subject to risk analysis.
