At Torrent Group we approach the development of custom “Ad Hoc” Closures as a challenge to meet the specific needs of our clients and the markets we serve. Our professional trajectory of continuous improvement and innovation has been key to our leadership in the sector of non-refillable closures. Among these, our custom premium Ad Hoc closures stand out, tailored to fit the brand and packaging of our clients’ products.
“Ad hoc” Custom Premium Closures Tailor Made
From the most noble materials such as cork and microgranules to the most versatile like zamak, and the safest like polymer, the possibilities for creating a bespoke closure solution that meets the branding requirements of the product are endless.
In such a competitive market, “ad hoc” non-refillable caps add significant value to the branding of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) and spirits. From our Innovation and Development department, we set trends. We blend aesthetics, safety, design, and functionality into our custom bottle tops. With “ad hoc” closures, the marketing of spirits, beverages, and EVOO strides towards excellence in exclusivity.
With our Ad hoc closures, we complete the quality of your container with the elegance and style that defines the brand and corporate identity it represents. We understand that a good product is judged by its design. At Torrent Group, we assist in paying attention to the smallest detail, completing the branding of your bottles with our custom caps.
Bartop, a Closure that Preserves the Quality of Liquors and Spirits
Our line of high-quality BarTop caps custom-made for each project, embodies the fundamental requirements of our company’s mission: safety, sustainability, and the relentless pursuit of enhancing the consumer usage experience.
Features of BarTop Caps:
- On one hand, we have the shank of the stopper, which is the part of the closure in contact with the liquid and must withstand the highest demands.
- At Torrent Closures, we produce BarTop Cap solely from microgranulated natural cork. We manage the entire disinfection process of the cork and utilize all the material in the form of cork dust. Additionally, thanks to our production process, we generate no waste when adjusting the cuts of the closures. Therefore, we present a 100% sustainable bottle tops.
We can affirm that we offer an enhanced version of the traditional cork stopper due to the use of microgranulated cork dust. This material allows for multiple benefits. By optimizing material consumption, the result is more refined.
How do we achieve this? The natural Microgranulate preserves the organoleptic quality of liquors and spirits because it maintains the positive properties of a noble, natural, and renewable material like natural cork. With the advantage of eliminating some difficulties it presents (TCA, low productivity, porosity, and the inability to adapt the product, among others). The part of the stopper in contact with liquors, spirits, and wine is the most important because it maintains the product in good condition.
In summary, our Microgranulated cork guarantees:
- Exhaustive TCA Control: Both the cork grain and the finished stopper are thoroughly controlled using a system developed by Torrent, ensuring they are free from unwanted odors and flavors.
- No Cork Particle Sedimentation: Unlike natural cork, our product does not have sedimentation of cork particles.
- No Dust Particle Sedimentation: We disinfect both the grain and the cork to prevent dust particles.
- Sustainability: Our product is eco-friendly.
- Consistent Mechanical Function: Every stopper is uniformly dense, ensuring consistent mechanical performance without deviations.
- Internally Produced: This supports the circular economy, especially as it’s produced in the region of the Alcornocales forests.
Additionally, the cap of our BarTop stopper, the top part of the closure, consists of a capsule that can be made of wood, bio-based polymer, metal (aluminum), porcelain, glass, or other noble materials. The cap is uniquely and specifically designed for each client. In our Terra Range, where the cork is visible and plays a significant visual and aesthetic role with a larger cap, the assembly at Torrent Closures is done without glue, and the cap does not use ink. For special decoration requirements, we use laser engraving instead of the commonly used solvent-based ink.
The sum of all these features yields a closure solution that is:
- 100% Sustainable: Environmentally responsible, focusing on waste reuse.
- Safe: The use of Microgranulated material ensures the product is not contaminated, thus guaranteeing the quality of the food products it seals.
- Functional for the User: Convenient for opening the package, enhancing the product’s packaging and adding value, meeting the requirements and needs specified by the client.
Terra Manifiest
Humans are becoming more tuned to the importance of respecting and maintaining our most precious asset, which is the Earth. It’s a treasure we all share, one we’re all responsible for, and the only thing that can guarantee our survival as a species.
Countries, companies, and citizens at large are on the lookout for new ways to consume, connect, and work that can help restore the balance of our ecosystem that’s been disrupted. Sustainability, recyclability, circularity, carbon footprint, eco- processes, and eco-designs are concepts that have become part of our daily life, our common language.
The Torrent Group, over 105 years ago, was born in the cork industry, one of the most noble and sustainable materials out there. Ever since, as a company, we’ve been committed to making sustainability one of our strategic priorities.
Terra is the embodiment of this return to the roots, to the earth, to cork. It’s a new concept where cork takes center stage, stepping out of the bottle. This combination of cork with other natural elements like wood, bioplastics, and metals is a return to pure and simple forms.
